Create a Link to an External Contact

You can create a link to a contact from another organization that is linked to an external organization, such as a project manager or owner. This allows you to easily search for documents that a contact has uploaded and linked to the current organization, send an email to the contact, and assign actions.

Prerequisites: You must first follow the task to Create a Link to an External Organization.

To create a link to an external contact:

  1. Go to the external organization record.
    You can search for organizations in the Activity Zone. For information, see Search for Organizations.
  2. On the General tab, under Linked Orgs. and Contacts, click > Add New Contact for the organization that you want to add a contact from.
  3. On the Add/Edit Contact window, use the Contact list to select the external contact that you want to link to.
  4. Enter or select any information about the contact in relation to the organization you are linking it to, such as whether the contact is a key and/or active contact, and details about their role.
  5. Click Save.
