You can add external organizations to an opportunity. These are the organizations that will be involved in the project, such as clients and contractors. When you link organizations to an opportunity, you can then add contacts from those organizations to the opportunity.
To add an organization to an opportunity:

Navigate to the opportunity.
You can search for opportunities in the
Activity Zone.

In the External Organizations and Contacts band, click
Add New Organization.

On the Add Organization window, enter the name of the organization in the
Organization field. When the name of the organization appears, click it to select it.
If the organization that you want to add does not exist in the system, click
to add it.

If the organization is a key organization, select the
Key Organization check box.

If the contact will be an active organization, select the
Active Organization check box.

In the
Role Details field, enter the organization's role.

From the
Status list, select the status of the organization.

From the
Role Type list, select the role of the organization.

Click
Save.
