You can publish a snapshot of a document that you have not yet published to
PIM. This will publish the file to
PIM and then immediately check it out to you so that you maintain control of the document as you continue to work on it.
To publish a snapshot of an unpublished document:
-
To display the
Local File Management page, do either of the following:
- Navigate to the
Information Zone, and then click the
Local File Management tab.
- Right-click the Deltek
Local File Management icon
in your system tray and choose
Local File Management Page.
-
On the
Local File Management screen, in the Not in
PIM section, click
.
Alternatively, to publish snapshots of multiple unpublished documents, select the check box of each file that you want to publish in the Not in
PIM section, and then click
Snapshot Publish.
-
On the Publish Snapshot screen, in the left pane, select one or more locations to publish the document to.
-
Under Select Attributes, select any records to link the document to, as required.
-
Click the Details/Comments tab and enter any details and version comments.
If you have selected to publish multiple files, any information you enter here will be applied to all documents.
-
Click
Publish.
The files are published to
PIM and moved to the In
PIM section. Since the documents are already automatically checked out to you when you publish snapshots, other users are prevented from editing the documents until you check them in.
