User Masking Concepts

The User Masking functionality in Maconomy provides flexibility to mask personal information for current or former employees.

When enabled, this feature targets only user and employee information stored in various locations—including contact person details, vendor data, user-specific selection criteria, setup and transaction data, documents, and logs. Specifically, it performs the following actions:
  • Changes the username to a specified masking value, updating all occurrences of the username and deleting the user record if necessary.
  • Updates the corresponding employee name (including all revisions), as well as the names in related contact and vendor information, replacing them with the masked name while retaining the underlying employee record.
  • Clears personal data from relevant fields and associated logs that track field changes for users, employees, and related entities.
Access to these masking options is restricted to users with the correct privileges.
