- Trees
A reporting hierarchy structure consists of a number of trees. - Nodes
The components making up each tree are called nodes. - Parents and Children
A node located directly beneath another node is called a child while the node directly above another node is referred to as the parent. - Leaves
A node which does not have any children is called a leaf. - Levels
The vertical position of each node in the hierarchy is indicated by means of a level number. - Allowed and Disallowed Structures
It is only possible to create regular tree structures where each node has zero or one parents. - Creating and Using Reporting Hierarchies
