Send a Chat Message

While editing or viewing a record, you can click on the employee picture icon to open an info bubble with the employee's contact information. If Microsoft Teams Chat is enabled, you can click the chat icon to initiate a chat with the employee.

Pre-requisite: The following options must be selected in Vantagepoint Settings:
  • Enable Microsoft Teams Chats from Deltek Vantagepoint in Settings > General > Communications
  • Enable Real-Time Notifications and Interactions in Settings > General > Options

To send a chat message:

  1. Click the employee picture icon at the top of the form to open the Employee info bubble.
  2. Click to initiate the one-on-one chat.
    Note that upon initially using Microsoft Teams, your browser might display a prompt that asks if you want to always open Microsoft Teams in the associated app. The verbiage that displays depends on the browser in use. For best results, follow the prompts and select the Always open... option so that Microsoft Teams opens automatically on future logins.
  3. Use the chat window to enter and send your message.
