Creating an Element Group Quick Reference

An element group is a set of proposal elements that you group and save for reuse. You can create an element group from scratch or by saving a group of elements from an existing proposal. Element groups help you quickly create consistent proposals. Use this quick reference as a summary of the steps for creating a new element group.

Create an Element Group
1 There are three methods for creating an element group:
  • From scratch: Create and save elements by clicking Proposals > Templates and then clicking + Add Element Group. Continue to Step 2.
  • From an existing element group: If a new element group is similar to an existing element, open Proposals > Templates and click Options > Copy at the end of the element group's grid row. You can then edit and save the copied element to create a new element group.
  • From a proposal: After you build a proposal in Proposals > Custom Proposals, select the elements that you want to add to an element group and click Save as Element Group.

2 On the Add Element Group or Copy Element Group dialog box, define the following for the new element group:
  • Name: Enter a unique name for the element group.
  • Category: Select a category for the element group. The categories allow you to organize the elements by function. You can search the elements by category and they are defined by your system administrator. The same categories are used for both Element Groups and Proposal Templates.
  • Description: Enter a description for the element group. This may include the type of proposal in which the element is used, or other information that makes the element easily identifiable on the Element Groups dialog box.
