Copy an Existing Dashboard

You can duplicate an existing dashboard and use it as a starting point for quickly building another dashboard.

Appropriate access rights are needed to perform this task.

These steps do not apply when you are using Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone.

When you have dashboards in multiple languages, the copied dashboard retains the language used when you created it. For more information, see: Multiple Languages in Dashboards and Dashparts.

To copy an existing dashboard:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Dashboards and then select one of these actions:
    • If no dashboards have been created, select Dashboard.
    • If one or more dashboards exist, select a dashboard under one of these submenus: My Dashboards, Personal, or All Dashboards. The submenus available depend on your role’s access rights.
  2. On the Dashboard form, click Edit Mode to enable editing.

The Edit Mode toggle option is not enabled when you use a tablet or smart phone to access Vantagepoint.

  3. In the list of dashboards on the Navigation pane, select the dashboard that you want to copy.
  4. On the edit mode toolbar, click Copy.
  5. On the Dashboard Copy dialog box, enter a name in the Dashboard Name field and then click Copy.
The Dashboard Copy dialog box closes and the dashboard copy displays in the Dashboard form. Any share settings specified for the dashboard are not copied.
  6. Click Share to display the Share this Dashboard dialog box and then select the employees and roles that can use the new dashboard.
  7. Modify the dashparts and other dashboard settings as needed and click Save.
