Invoice File for a Billing Session

When you generate and process invoices during a billing session in Interactive Billing or Batch Billing or create credit memos in Draft Invoice Approvals, you specify an invoice file in which to store the invoice transactions for posting.

You enter a new file or select an existing invoice file on the Invoice File Selection dialog box that opens from various places in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, and Draft Invoice Approvals.

In Interactive Billing an invoice file can contain invoices, credit memos, voided invoices, and retainage invoices.

In Batch Billing, you use an invoice file when you process a Final run type to final accept and create the final invoices.

In Draft Invoice Approvals, you use an invoice file when you create a credit memo from the Invoice History tab.

After you process invoices in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, or Draft Invoice Approvals, you post the invoice file in Transaction Center > Transaction Entry > Invoices.
