Using the Revenue Forecast Application

Forecasting revenue is a key part of the monthly process for project managers, business managers and controllers in professional service companies.

Updating revenue forecasts in Vantagepoint is simple. You enter your remaining revenue in the total or into the remaining fiscal periods and the rest of the analysis happens automatically. Vantagepoint compares your remaining revenue in your forecasts against backlog and give you visual indicators if there is a difference. Then, you can view revenue forecast information on the Project Forecast report to get a view into revenue across the entire company. For multi-currency customers, users can see and edit revenue forecasts in the project and the billing currency, using exchange rates to automatically update the currency not entered.

To use revenue forecasting, you must have the Resource Planning module. Revenue forecasts are only supported on projects with a charge type of regular, since you are not able to earn revenue on projects with a charge type of promotional or overhead.
