Business Development Workspace Configuration and Administration
The help topics listed below provide information to assist you with configuration and administration tasks for the Employee workspace.
Related topics:
- Setting Up Employees
In the Business Development workspace, you can assign employees as members of teams for opportunities. You can also designate them as team members for companies and contacts. You set up all employees in the Employee Info Center in Vision. - Specifying Values for Drop-Down Selection Lists
A number of fields in iAccess provide drop-down lists for selecting valid values. Most of these system fields have a default set of values, but you can add other values, delete default values that you do not want to use, change the order of the values in selection lists, and edit existing default values. - Adding Custom Fields, Grids, and Tabs
If your firm needs to track data other than those included as standard fields in iAccess, you can define those fields in Vision and add them to one of the standard tabs in the Business Development workspace or to a custom tab that your firm has added. You can also add custom grids and tabs to iAccess. - Customization and Multiple Languages
If your firm has enabled multiple languages in Vision, Deltek provides translated versions of the standard text elements (field labels, for example) in iAccess. However, if you create user-defined components or otherwise add custom elements to Vision and/or iAccess, you must also translate any text related to those custom elements for each of your languages. - Clients and Vendors and
Companies
In Vision, clients and vendors are in separate Info Centers. In the Business Development workspace, they are both just "companies" and, for the most part, are treated the same. - Screen Designer Modifications
Changes made to Vision using Screen Designer may also affect iAccess. - Integration of
Business Development with Kona Business
Kona from Deltek can be integrated with the Business Development workspace to support collaboration among those working on an opportunity. Kona is a private and secure collection of work spaces that members of the team associated with an opportunity can use to communicate, share documents, assign and manage tasks, and schedule events. - Integration of
Business Development with GovWin IQ
GovWin IQ from Deltek is integrated with the Business Development workspace so that you can import opportunities from GovWin IQ into Business Development. Deltek's GovWin IQ helps government contractors win more business by providing a centralized and detailed platform for insight into opportunities at all stages of the contracting lifecycle. GovWin IQ provides comprehensive information surrounding each opportunity to save you critical time hunting for the right contacts, identify opportunities well in advance of public notices, and locate teaming partners. - Set Up Integration with GovWin IQ
To implement the features that integrate iAccess with GovWin IQ, first contact your GovWin IQ Customer Success Manager and then use the GovWin IQ Web Service utility in Vision to configure the integration. - Autonumbering of Opportunities and
Companies
If automatic numbering is enabled for opportunities or clients in Vision, it is also enabled in iAccess and applied when you add those types of records in the Business Development workspace. - Activities in
Vision and in
iAccess
Using the Code Table Maintenance form in Vision (Configuration > General > Code Tables), you can set up any number of activity types. Your employees then use those activity types to track and classify activity related to opportunities, clients, vendors, and contacts by entering the individual activities on the Activities tab in the Opportunities, Clients, Vendors, and Contacts Info Centers. In iAccess, on the other hand, you can only enter two types of activities: milestones (for opportunities only) and touchpoints (for opportunities, companies, and contacts).
