Switch Project Amounts from Billing to Cost

The Project Management workspace may provide the option to switch from displaying billing amounts to cost amounts in the summary area on the left side of the workspace and on the Overview and Planning tabs. The applicable budget type determines whether or not the option to switch is available for a project.

The Show field in the upper-right corner of the workspace provides both the Billing option and Cost option under the following circumstances:
  • iAccess plans: Budget Type in the Plan Settings dialog box is set to Cost and Billing.
  • Vision plans: Budget Type on the Rates tab of the Project Planning form (Planning > Project Planning) is set to Cost and Billing.
  • Project with no plan: iAccess displays cost or billing amounts based on the budget type specified on the Plan Settings form in Vision (Configuration > Planning > Plan Settings). If your firm uses the Multicompany feature in Vision, that is the budget type specified in Plan Settings for the project's company.
Note: When you select the Cost option, some information may not display because of your security access. Settings on the Accounting tab on the Roles form in Vision (Configuration > Security > Roles ) determine your access rights to labor cost rates and amounts in iAccess. See the Security Settings and Labor Cost Amounts online help topic for more information.

To switch between billing and cost amounts, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Project Management workspace, select the project for which you want to view cost or billing data.
  2. Click Show in the upper-right corner of the workspace, and select Cost or Billing. Result: Most dashparts are updated to display the type of amounts that you selected. (The Aged Accounts Receivable dashpart and the Aged Unbilled Labor dashpart always display billing amounts.)
