Currency Override Dialog Box

If you use the Multicurrency feature in Vision, you can use the Currency Override dialog box to select a different currency type or exchange rate for one or more items on your expense report. This is useful in situations where the assigned default currency or exchange rate does not apply to the expense item that you are entering.

Refer to the Currency and Exchange Rate Overrides online help topic for more information.

Field Description
TRANSACTION CURRENCY To use a different currency for expense rows you are going to add, select the currency in this field.
Payment Currency This field displays the currency used for expense payments. This is your company's functional currency as specified in Vision.
METHOD Select the method you want to use to override the exchange rate:
  • To use the default rate for the currency in TRANSACTION CURRENCY, select None.
  • To use the rate in effect for the transaction currency on a date other than the expense item date, select Date.
  • To use a specific exchange rate instead of the default exchange rate, select Rate. (This option is not available if the currency in TRANSACTION CURRENCY is the same as the payment currency.)

If the currency in TRANSACTION CURRENCY is the same as the functional currency, you must override the date or rate at the detail level on the appropriate line in the expense report grid. iAccess displays a dialog box message that indicates the conflict.

DATE This field displays if you select Date in METHOD. Enter the date for the exchange rate you want to use, or click and select the date.

If the currency in TRANSACTION CURRENCY is the same as the payment currency, an exchange date override is only applied to expense items for which the transaction currency is different than the payment currency.

RATE This field displays If you select Rate in METHOD. Enter the rate that you want to use in place of the default currency exchange rate set up in Vision.
Save Click Save to close the dialog box, save the override information, and apply it as you add or edit rows on the expense report.
Cancel Click Cancel to discard any unsaved override information and close the dialog box.
