Accounts (Key Conversions)

Use the Key Conversion utility for accounts to change an account number or to close out (consolidate) account number data into a single account number.

You can consolidate data between two existing account numbers. Alternatively, you can set up a new account number in which to close out account numbers that are no longer in use. When you consolidate account numbers, Vantagepoint deletes the old value. All detail associated with the old value is associated with the new value. Budgets and corporate budgets are consolidated.

Prerequisite: Back up your Vantagepoint database.

Combine Account Records

Use the Combine Records tab to merge duplicate account records. The account code defined under Existing Account Number will merge into the account defined under New Account Number on the Combine Records tab of the Accounts form. Combining accounts merges the records and all associated details and transactions.

Change Account Number

Change the account number on an existing account record on the Change Number tab of the Accounts form. The account number will be updated as well as any associated transactions.
