To enter planned quantities for units for specific calendar periods on the Units tab of the Plan form in the Projects hub, select the project, expand the plan work breakdown structure (WBS) to display the unit assignments for which you want to enter quantities, and enter the quantities in the appropriate calendar period fields.
To enter planned unit quantities for calendar periods:

In the Navigation pane, select

On the Plan form, select the project for which you want to enter unit quantities.

On the Actions bar, click
Check Out.

Click the Units tab.

Above the Unit planning grid, set the
Show option to
Quantity.

Expand the WBS to display the unit assignments for which you which you want to enter quantities.
You can only enter quantities for individual unit assignments and not for WBS elements.

To enter quantities for a unit assignment that does not yet exist, hover over the WBS element to which you want add the assignment, click
next to the element name and add the assignment.
You can also click
at the end of the row and then click
Add Units to add the assignment.

Click the assignment row to display the entry fields and do any of the following:
- Enter the unit quantities in the calendar period fields.
- Enter an amount in the
ETC Quantity field.
Vantagepoint allocates the quantity to the calendar periods for the unit assignment.
You can use the
Scale option to display the calendar period columns by
Days & Months,
Weeks, or
Months. If you later change the scale (for example, from
Weeks to
Months),
Vantagepoint reallocates the quantity for the new scale.
As you make entries in the calendar period fields, columns in the middle section of the grid that contain calculated values based on the calendar period entries (such as planned cost and billing amounts) are not updated immediately. Instead,
Vantagepoint displays those values with a strikethrough to indicate that they are no longer current. When you move to another grid row or, with a few exceptions, otherwise move off of the current row, all grid cells with out-of-date values are automatically recalculated, and the strikethrough removed.
