Open a Lookup in a Timesheet Field

You can access lookups in the Timesheet application to make it easier to enter timesheet data. Lookups are available wherever you see a . A Sort drop-down list displays at the bottom of the lookup dialog. You can sort the list by Name or Number. If the dialog contains multiple lists, the Sort feature only applies to the list on the left.

Prerequisites: Open a timesheet
To open a lookup in a Timesheet field, complete the following steps:
  1. Click in a timesheet field. The respective lookup displays. For example, if you are using one level WBS, the Project lookup displays and you can select a project record. However, if you are using a multiple level WBS and click the lookup button in the Project field, the Project, Phase, and Task lookup displays and you can select the respective Project/Phase/Task.
  2. Use the Sort feature to sort the list by Name or Number. For example, you can sort the contents of the Labor Category lookup list to put the items in the most helpful order. If the lookup dialog displays multiple lists, the Sort feature only affects the list that is furthest left. If you change the Sort option, Navigator refreshes the contents of the current lookup dialog box.
  3. If you are using multiple WBS levels and the Project/Phase/Task lookups display, a Sort drop-down list displays at the bottom of the dialog box. Use the Sort option to further sort the respective lookup list by Name or Number. If you change the Sort option, Navigator refreshes the contents of the current lookup dialog box.
  4. Use the Search feature to further refine your lookup results.
  5. Select a record from the results.
  6. Click Finish.
