Integrations & Imports Area of Configuration: Integrations Tab

To implement the features that integrate Deltek Resource Planning with GovWin IQ or Kona Business, use the Integrations & Imports area in the Configuration workspace to enter your firm's GovWin IQ account information and Kona Business account information. To use any of the APIs to import data from other applications into the Resource Planning module, use the Integrations tab to generate the ID and secret that your applications will use to access Deltek Resource Planning through the APIs.

Integration with GovWin IQ or Kona Business is only available if you activated the CRM module.

GovWin IQ

Use the following fields on the Integrations tab to set up the integration with GovWin IQ.

Integration with GovWin IQ is only available for the CRM module. If you have not activated the CRM module, the GovWin IQ fields do not display.

Field Description
CLIENT ID

To implement the GovWin IQ integration features in Deltek Resource Planning, paste or enter your firm's GovWin IQ client ID in this field.

To obtain your client ID and client secret, click next to GovWin IQ and follow the procedure in Set Up Integration with GovWin IQ.

CLIENT SECRET To implement the GovWin IQ integration features in Deltek Resource Planning, paste or enter your firm's GovWin IQ client secret in this field.
Allow new records

Select Allow new records if you want users, when they import opportunities from GovWin IQ, to have the option to create records in Deltek Resource Planning for companies and contacts associated with the opportunities that do not already exist in Deltek Resource Planning. The user selects the companies and contacts they want from a list of missing records, and the import process creates records for them.

Clear Allow new records if you do not want the import process to create any missing company or contact records. In that case, if they are needed you must manually add them and associate them with the related opportunities.

Automatically update GovWin IQ Records

Select this check box if you want to automatically update information for active opportunities that were imported from GovWin IQ when information for those opportunities changes in GovWin IQ. The updates occur once every 24 hours at a time you specify in NEXT SCHEDULED IMPORT.

This option is only available if you have entered your GovWin IQ client ID and client secret.

The update process updates opportunities with the Active status in Deltek Resource Planning for which changes were made in GovWin IQ since the last time the process ran. Included in the update is information imported from GovWin IQ for related companies and contacts.

The update process does not update Deltek Resource Planning for the following changes in GovWin IQ:
  • Opportunity name change.
  • Opportunity description change.
  • Milestone date change.
  • Milestone deletion. (However, it does add a new milestone in Deltek Resource Planning if one is added in GovWin IQ.)
USERNAME

If you select Automatically update GovWin IQ Records, enter a valid GovWin IQ username (email address) that the update process can use to connect to GovWin IQ.

If the update process fails for some reason, an email alert will be sent to this email address.

PASSWORD If you select Automatically update GovWin IQ Records, enter the password for the GovWin IQ username in USERNAME.
Last Updated

This field displays the date and time that opportunities were last updated with changes from GovWin IQ.

If you later change your time selection in NEXT SCHEDULED IMPORT, Deltek Resource Planning removes the current process and creates a new one. Because that new process has not yet been run, this field displays None.

Next Scheduled Import This field displays the next date and time that the process will run to update opportunities with changes from GovWin IQ.
NEXT SCHEDULED IMPORT

Click in this field, and select the time that you want the update process to run each day.

Most firms select a time outside of normal business hours.

Kona

Use the following fields on the Integrations tab to set up the integration with Kona Business.

Integration with Kona Business is only available for the CRM module. If you have not activated the CRM module, the Kona fields do not display.

CLIENT ID

To implement the Kona Business integration features in Deltek Resource Planning, paste or enter your firm's Kona Business client ID in this field.

To obtain your client ID and client secret, use the procedure in Set Up Integration with Kona Business.

CLIENT SECRET To implement the Kona Business integration features in Deltek Resource Planning, paste or enter your firm's Kona Business client secret in this field.

API Authorization

If you have the Resource Planning module and want to use any of the APIs to import data from other applications into that module, use the following controls on the Integrations tab to generate the ID and secret that your applications will use to access Deltek Resource Planning through the APIs.

Field Description
CLIENT ID After you click Generate Secret, this field displays your client ID for authorization to access Deltek Resource Planning through the APIs.
CLIENT SECRET After you click Generate Secret, this field displays your client secret for authorization to access Deltek Resource Planning through the APIs.
Generate Secret Click this button to have Deltek Resource Planning generate the client ID and client secret for API access.
