Create a Kona Space for a New Opportunity

When you add a new opportunity, you have the option to have Deltek Resource Planning create a Kona space for the opportunity to support collaboration among those working on the opportunity.

If you create an opportunity without a Kona space, you can always create a space for it later, either on the Collaboration tab or within Kona, and associate the opportunity with that space.

Prerequisite: This option is only available if your firm has implemented integration with Kona Business and you are a member of that Kona Business account.

To create and associate a Kona space with a new opportunity, complete the following steps:
  1. Click to go to the Opportunities area.
  2. Click + Add Opportunity next to the opportunity search field. This option is only available if you have the access rights that are required to add records.
  3. Select the Create Kona Space check box.

    If you are not currently connected to Kona in the My Settings dialog box, you are asked to enter your Kona credentials.

  4. Enter all information required to create the opportunity.
  5. Click on the Add Opportunity toolbar.

    Result: Deltek Resource Planning saves the new opportunity and also does the following:

    • Creates a space for the opportunity in Kona with the same name as the opportunity
    • Associates the space with the opportunity so it automatically displays on the Collaboration tab
    • Invites all employees who are currently listed on the Team tab to join the space
