Historical Hours Import Fields
After you have imported employees and projects, you can also import the actual hours (job-to-date, or JTD, hours) your employees have charged to projects.
If the import process or API imports a labor transaction for a project, and no assignment exists for the employee for the WBS element to which the labor is charged, the import creates a new assignment. The start and end dates for that assignment are set to the plan start and end dates of the WBS element.
Each time you import historical hours using either the .CSV import process or the API, the JTD date on the Planning tab in the General area of the Configuration workspace is automatically updated to the latest labor history date in the Deltek Resource Planning database.
Contents
Field | Description/Notes |
---|---|
Employee Number Size: 20 characters Type: Varchar |
(Required) Employee number of the employee for whom you are importing historical hours. An employee with a matching employee number must already exist in Deltek Resource Planning. If this field is blank or the employee number does not exist, the record is not imported and an error message displays. |
Project ID Size: 255 characters Type: Varchar |
(Required) Full WBS element ID for the WBS element for which you are importing historical hours. An element with a matching ID must already exist in Deltek Resource Planning. In addition, the element must be at the lowest level of its branch of the WBS in Deltek Resource Planning; you can only import historical hours for the lowest-level elements. If this field is blank or the ID does not exist or it is not at the lowest level, the record is not imported and an error message displays. For example, if your WBS has two levels, Project and Phase, and you use periods as delimiters between levels, this field should contain 10100.20 when you import time charged to project 10100 and phase 20. |
Transaction Date Type: Datetime |
(Required) Date associated with the hours the employee charged to the WBS element. If this field is blank or contains an invalid date, the record is not imported and an error message displays. These dates must be in YYYY-MM-DD format or in the date format that is specified in the My Settings dialog box in Deltek Resource Planning at the time you run the import process. If you import hours daily, this could be the hours charged each day. However, most often firms use the date of the last day of the timesheet period as the transaction date for the hours they import. |
Hours Size: 19 digits, with up to 4 decimal digits Type: Decimal |
(Required) Number of regular hours. If this field is blank, the record is not imported. |
Overtime Hours Size: 19 digits, with up to 4 decimal digits Type: Decimal |
Number of overtime hours. Overtime hours are not displayed separately in Deltek Resource Planning. If you import overtime hours, they are combined with regular hours. |
