Edit an Opportunity

To change opportunity information in the Business Development workspace, go to the Opportunities area and select the opportunity.

If your firm has not activated the CRM module, you can edit opportunities in the Opportunities area of the Resource Planning workspace.

To edit an opportunity, complete the following steps:
  1. In the Business Development workspace, click to go to the Opportunities area.
  2. Use the Find opportunity field immediately above the opportunity title to select the opportunity that you want to edit.
  3. To change information in the summary on the left side of the Opportunities area or information on the Overview tab, do one or more of the following:
    • To change the value in a field with a drop-down list, indicated by , click the field and select the value.
    • To change the value in a field with an edit dialog box, hover over the field to display the icon, click , and enter or select the value.
    • To edit multiple fields using the Edit Opportunity form, click on the Opportunities toolbar. Click on the Edit Opportunity toolbar to save your changes.
  4. To participate in the Kona space for the opportunity or associate the opportunity with a space, click the Collaboration tab, and do one or more of the following:
    • Click to add a new conversation, task, or event. You can also associate a file with any of these when you add it or later.
    • Click to view and participate in conversations.
    • Click to view and update tasks.
    • Click to view and update events.
    • If the opportunity is not currently associated with a Kona space, click Associate Kona Space to associate it with an existing space or with a new space.
    • To associate the opportunity with a different Kona space, click Change Kona Space.
  5. To change the team information for the opportunity, click the Team tab, and do one or more of the following:
    • To add a company (the client, a subconsultant, or a government agency) to the team, click below the Companies grid.
    • To add one of your employees or an external contact to the team, click + Add Team Member below the Team Members grid.
    • To change a field value for a company or team member, enter or select the value in that field. Hover over the grid row and click to display additional information.
    • To remove a company or team member from the team, hover over the grid row and click at the end of the row.
  6. To change the activity information for the opportunity, click the Activities tab, and do one or more of the following:
    • To add a new milestone, click + Add Milestone below the Key Milestones grid.
    • To add a new touchpoint, click + Add Touchpoint below the Touchpoints grid.
    • To change a field value for a milestone or touchpoint, enter or select the value in that field.
    • To add or view a Kona task for a touchpoint, hover over the grid row and click at the end of the row.
    • To remove a milestone or touchpoint, hover over the grid row and click at the end of the row.
  7. To change information about competitors for the opportunity, click the Competition tab, and do one or more of the following:
    • To add a competing company, click + Add Competitor below the Competitors grid.
    • To change a field value for a competitor, enter or select the value in that field.
    • To view or enter a note about the competitor or mark the competitor as an incumbent, hover over the grid row and click at the end of the row.
    • To remove a competitor, hover over the grid row and click at the end of the row.
