Generic Staff Import Fields
You can import generic resource data into the Deltek Resource Planning database. If the generic resource does not already exist in Deltek Resource Planning, it is added.
Licensing
Licensing for the Resource Planning module establishes a limit on the number of active and inactive employees you can set up. (Terminated employees are not counted.) It also limits the number of generic resources to the same number. For example, if you license Deltek Resource Planning for 100 employees, you also have a limit of 100 generic resources.
If you think you are approaching the limit set by your license, verify that new generic resources in the .CSV import file or that will be imported through the API will not cause you to exceed that limit.
Contents
Field | Description/Notes |
---|---|
Code Size: 20 characters Type: Varchar |
(Required) Generic resource code. If no generic resource with a matching code exists in Deltek Resource Planning, the import process creates a new generic resource record. If a generic resource with a matching code already exists in Deltek Resource Planning and you select the Update duplicate records option, the import process updates fields in Deltek Resource Planning for that generic resource based on the data in the .CSV file. If this field is blank, the record is not imported and an error message displays. |
Name Size: 50 characters Type: Varchar |
(Required) Generic resource name (for example, Engineer II). If this field is blank, the record is not imported and an error message displays. |
Organization Size: 30 characters Type: Varchar |
Organization ID. If your firm sets up organizations in Deltek Resource Planning and you include a value in the organization field for a generic resource, it must match an existing organization ID exactly, and that organization ID must be at the lowest level of the organization structure. If an organization in this field does not match an existing organization in Deltek Resource Planning, the record is imported without an organization, and a warning displays. |
Labor Category Size: 10 characters Type: Varchar |
Labor category code. If the labor category code does not match an existing labor category code in Deltek Resource Planning, the record is imported without the labor category code, and a warning displays. |
Status Size: See notes. Type: Varchar |
Status code. Valid values are A (Active) and I (Inactive). If this field is blank for a new generic resource or contains an invalid value, the generic resource is assigned the Active status, and a warning displays. |
