The Dashboard in Deltek PM Compass provides a single location to view what is important to you. Dashboards are comprised of dashparts that can be rearranged or configured to meet your needs. You can create multiple dashboards, and each one can include many dashparts.
The Dashboards feature includes two types of dashboards:
Public Dashboards — Public dashboards are dashboards that you create and share with other users in read-only mode using the Access Control to Dashboards dialog box. Public dashboards display under the Public Dashboards category on the Navigation menu. See Public Dashboards for more information.
My Dashboards (Private Dashboards) — My Dashboards are dashboards you create and own and are displayed under the My Dashboards category on the Navigation menu. The My Dashboard category only displays after you have created your own dashboard. See My Dashboards for more information.
A dashpart is a section, or block, on the dashboard. You can configure the dashparts and the dashboard to display specific information, tasks that must be accomplished, and upcoming deadlines. The dashparts also enables you to quickly access applications, documents, and web pages that you often use.
Add dashparts to your dashboard using the Dashpart Configuration dialog box so that, when you logon, you can quickly perform the following tasks:
View workflow alerts
View cost analysis information
View schedule analysis information
View Deltek PM Compass applications
View reports
View workflows
Access Control to Dashboards — Use the Access Control to Dashboards dialog box, located on the Dashboards drop-down menu, to share your dashboards with other users or groups in read-only mode. Your shared dashboards and the associated dashparts are displayed on the Navigation menu under Public Dashboards. See Configure Access Control to Dashboards for more information on setting up dashboard access control.
Access Control to Dashparts — You can share your dashparts with other PM Compass users using the Access Control to Dashparts dialog box, located on the Dashparts drop-down menu. See Configure Access Control to Dashparts for more information on setting up dashpart access control.
The Global Search feature allows you to filter by project and/or control account in the cost analysis, schedule analysis, workflows, and report dashpart types. See Global Searches in Dashboards and Dashparts for more information.
The Dashboard toolbar is located at the top of the Dashboard form and allows you to complete tasks such as adding dashboards and dashparts, setting up access control, and distributing changes, among other things.
