Publish Documents Using Local File Management
You use the Local File Management page to manage your local documents, publish documents to PIM, and check documents back in after you edit them. Local File Management works in all modern browsers, and is the replacement for Working Files in previous versions.
The Local File Management page is available from PIM version 20.1.4, and you must have the Local File Management component installed and running on your machine to use it. For information, contact your PIM administrator.

Before you can publish files to the PIM Document Management System via the Local File Management page, you must first add them to your local working files folder. All files that are in your working files folder, and which have not yet been published to PIM, are displayed under Not in PIM on the Local File Management page. - Publish Documents
You can publish one or more files to the PIM DMS from the Local File Management page. Files that you can publish are displayed under Not in PIM on the Local File Management page. After you publish a file, it is automatically removed from your PC. - Check in a Document
When you have finished editing a document that you have checked out, or after you have created a new document from a template, you must check it in to the DMS to ensure users have access to the latest version. - Publish Snapshots of Documents
You can publish the current state of documents that you are working on while you keep the files checked out to you. These are called snapshots, and they allow you to provide the latest updates to users while you maintain control of the documents as you continue to work on them. - Check in Documents Using Express Check In
You can use the Local File Management Express Check In feature to quickly check files back in to the DMS without making any changes to the publication settings, such as where the documents are published to, and which records they are linked to. Document version numbers are still updated, even if no changes are made to the documents. - Check the File Publish Progress
When you publish files through the Local File Management page, the File Progress window automatically displays to show you the progress. This is useful when you publish large files to PIM. When all files have been published, the window closes. If you manually close the File Progress window when files are still being processed, you can access it again from the system tray. - Undo Document Checkouts
If you decide not to make or keep any changes to files that you have checked out to edit, you can discard the checkouts so that you do not affect the version history. - Remove Files from Your Working Files Folder
You can remove files from your local working files folder via the Local File Management page. When you remove files, you can choose to keep local copies, or permanently delete them.
