Designing Purchase Order Task Widgets

The purchase order task widget is an editable widget where you can create, edit, void, print, and accept purchase orders.

Note: Alerts cannot be created on task widgets. To add an alert for purchase orders, create a reporting widget using the purchase order or purchase order detail bases and add an alert on that widget.

Before you begin

To create a purchase order task widget

  1. Click > to open Design mode, and click the tab you want the purchase order widgets to be on.
  2. In the Tab Properties area, click Add Widget.
  3. Under Widget type > Tasks, select Purchase Orders.

The Purchase Order and Purchase Order Detail widgets are added to the tab.

The widgets automatically have all of the columns required for entering, editing, and closing purchase orders.

  1. Navigate to the widgets and set up security.
  2. To allow employees to create new purchase orders, click > to open Design mode and check the Task Options > Enable "New" button box.

  3. To allow employees to edit the following columns on the purchase order widget, click > to open Design mode and click that column heading and check the Can Edit box:
  • Vendor Description
  • Number
  • Purchase Order Status
  • Description
  • Order Date
  • Ordered By
  • Requisition Number
  • Ship to Address
  • Notes
