The Assignment Management Workspace

The Assignment Management workspace is useful for both project and resource managers for reviewing resource bookings.

Project managers can use this workspace for booking requests on projects, while resource managers can review and approve requests according to resource capability.

This workspace displays a flat list of resources and their assignments. Managers can group and sort information according to their needs, which is particularly helpful when reviewing resource availability. When you group information by column, a summary of the total number of bookings for each row is displayed.

All bookings, regardless of status, are displayed in this workspace. You can use the available filters to display specific bookings, such as tentative or declined bookings, as a guide when viewing resource booking requests.

This workspace utilizes the Assignment Gantt (AG) to provide support for the resource booking request and approval workflow. The task period indicator in the AG also provides better visibility of the start and end dates of a task. To use this feature, select the Show period indicator checkbox at the bottom of the workspace.

Similar to other Web Components, you can also create and manage bookings in this workspace. This workspace is available in the Maconomy web client under the Resource Management menu group.
