On the Attendance Policy form you configure rules that determine which non-labor events can post to a person's timecard when the person posts events manually (on the Web timecard or a client terminal) or when the ATTENDANCE service runs. The rules include posting holidays, penalty events, penalty points, and using balances to cover penalty events. Only the events that are enabled in a person's Attendance Policy will post to the person's timecard.

The table below indicates whether these events can post via the ATTENDANCE service:

This policy can be assigned to a single Employee/Person via the Employee Setting form, to an Employee Group with type POLICY_GROUP or FACILITY via the Employee Group Setting form, or to all users via the System Settings form. An Employee setting overrides an Employee Group setting, which overrides a System Setting. See Settings Precedence for more details.

The Default Attendance Policy configurations are listed here.

Points Enabled

When Points Enabled is checked, the system will track penalty points. Penalty points can be posted when penalty events occur. Penalty events are Late Arrival, Early Departure, No Show, and Short Day. You must define how many points each penalty event may post per occurrence on the individual event tabs (in the Points field). If a penalty event was triggered via the client terminal or Web Time Clock, the LABOR_ALL_MT service must run before points will show on the timecard.

You can view a person’s current number of points and point level using the Points tab of the Employee form.

Note: The Attendance Points and Generation of Supporting Events modules are required. See Licensing for details.
