The various setting types in the application can be applied to users in the following ways:
To a single person via Employee Setting.
To a Employee Group via Employee Group Setting.
To all users via System Settings.
The application includes default values that apply to all users via System Settings. When settings are applied at multiple levels, the settings precedence is as follows:

Overrides System Settings. Settings can be applied to Person Groups with type POLICY and FACILITY. Note that if a Person belongs to both a POLICY_GROUP and a FACILITY and a duplicate setting is assigned to both groups but with different values, the POLICY_GROUP value overrides the FACILITY value. The priority is determined in the person_group_type_criteria table, where the default setting is: POLICY_GROUP = 1, FACILITY = 2.

Applies to all users by default. If a setting is not assigned to the user via Employee Setting or Employee Group Setting, the System Setting applies. Note: SYSTEM DEFAULT settings are assigned to System Settings by default. |
Some settings can also be assigned as Terminal and Terminal Profile settings or configurations:
A Dictionary can be assigned to a Terminal Profile via the Default Dictionary field in the Terminal Profile record. The Dictionary in the Terminal Profile will override the Dictionary System Setting. The Dictionary Person Group Setting will override the Dictionary in the Terminal Profile, and the Dictionary Person Setting will override the Dictionary Person Group setting. You can also select a Dictionary when you Log In to the application. This selection will override the Dictionary assigned to you on the System Settings, Terminal Profile, Employee Group, or Employee form.
A Form Profile can be assigned to a Terminal Profile via the TERMINAL_FORM_PROFILE setting. This setting will override the Form Profile System Setting, Employee Group Setting, or Employee Setting.
The STATE_CODE setting can also be assigned as a Terminal Profile Setting or a Terminal Setting. The STATE_CODE setting is used to populate the F_STATE_CODE prompt for specific events. However, the Terminal and Terminal Profile settings are only used when posting from a data collection terminal.
Timezone can be configured for a Terminal Profile. The Timezone in the Terminal Profile will override the Timezone System Setting, Employee Group Setting, or Employee Setting.
The Web Terminal Menu setting can also be configured for a Terminal Profile (in the Menu Group Name field). The Web Terminal Menu setting will override the Terminal Profile’s Menu Group for the Web timecard, Web Time Clock, Mobile Client, and Mobile Web Application. If a person does not have a Web Terminal Menu setting, the Menu Group Name in the Terminal Profile will be used.
