Delete a Work Package

Use the Change Details view or the Cost Actions dialog box to delete a work package (WP). You cannot delete a work package that is already completed. If you delete a work package, all activities under that work package will also be deleted.

Before you begin, review Rules for Editing Change Details Data.

To delete a work package from the Change Details view:

  1. On the Navigation menu, click Workflows » Change Management » select a Change Request.

  2. In the List View, select the Change Request.

  3. On the General tab of the Change Request Form, click the Change Details button. The Change Details view and barchart displays.

    Tip: Maximize the Change Details screen in order to see all the options on the Change Details view grid toolbar.

  4. Select the work package from the grid.

  5. On the Change Details grid toolbar, click Delete.  

  6. Click Save.

Cost Actions Dialog Box

You can access the Cost Actions dialog box from the Workflow Form View and the Model Changes Form view.

Workflow Form View

  1. On the Navigation menu, click Workflows » <change management workflow category>.

  2. In the List View, select an existing workflow that has not started or has a New or In Review status, or create a new workflow that includes Change Details and click Form View.

  3. On the Form View toolbar, click Processes » Cost Actions.

Model Changes Form View:

  1. On the Navigation menu, click Model Changes » Model Changes.

  2. On the List View toolbar, click Form View.

  3. On the Form View toolbar, click Processes » Cost Actions.

To delete a work package using the Cost Actions dialog box:

In the Cost Actions dialog box, locate the work package that you want to delete and select the checkbox in the Delete column. When PM Compass executes the Delete Work Package cost actions process, the following occurs:
