Storing Change Request Data

Review the Change Management Process for a detailed description of each step in the change request process.

Determining What Changed

When a change request is applied, the entire activity or work package is not overwritten. Instead, the manual changes are tracked and applied. This approach is used to prevent overwriting progress and other edits. When the change is applied, only the changes made to the activities or work packages are applied.

You can view what was changed by clicking the Change Log button on the workflow form. In the upper right is a button that lets you toggle between cost and schedule changes.  Each field that has changed is recorded with the old and the new value.

If there are two or more workflows that make a change to the same activity during a single modeling session, all change numbers display in the PMC Change Number column and are listed comma delimited.

For information about the integration fields in Open Plan such as PMC Include In Baseline, see Change Management Fields in Open Plan.
