Use this screen to view information on parts, goods, or services that have been saved in the database. You can enter the item ID and the revision (if multiple revisions are allowed) to view both item information and project item information.
Note: You cannot use this inquiry to view
information on provisional parts. |
This screen is made up of one block, a table window, and ten subtasks accessed from the main screen:
Use the block at the top of the screen to enter search criteria and refine the parameters of your query. Entering search criteria will narrow the range of results you receive in the table window after you select the Execute icon. If you select the Execute icon without entering search criteria, all items that have been saved will appear.
Use the table window to view all search results. Information appearing here is non-editable. Choose a record line in order to use the subtasks.
Use the Std Text subtask to view text information associated with a specific item selected from the query results. Within this subtask is the Where-Used subtask that allows you to view information on where the standard text is applied when this item is processed.
Use the Vendors subtask to view a list of vendor information associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the Item Cost subtask to view cost information associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the Item Billing subtask to view item billing information associated with a specific item selected from the query results. Within this subtask are additional subtasks that allow you to view information for Product Price, Product Cost, and Product Warranty Cost.
Use the Alternate Parts subtask to view information on alternate parts numbers associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the Substitute Parts subtask to view information on the substitute parts associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the Projects subtask to view project information associated with a specific item selected from the query results. Within this subtask is an additional subtask that allows you to view information for Project Substitute Parts.
Use the Project Item Cost subtask to view project cost information associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the ECNs subtask to view ECN (Engineering Change Notice) information associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use the Documents subtask to view information on documents associated with a specific item selected from the query results.
Use this screen whenever necessary to view information about a specific item or range of items.
Use these fields to enter search criteria for the item(s) you wish to view. Entering search criteria will narrow the range of results you receive in the table window below after you select the Execute icon. If you select the Execute icon without entering search criteria, all items that have been saved will appear.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, an item ID for which information is required. Leave this field blank to not search by item ID. You can also enter partially in this field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the revision of the item.
If you selected the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item checkbox in the Corporate Settings block of the Product Definition Settings screen (Administration\Configure\Materials), you can retrieve multiple revisions of the same item. If the checkbox is not selected, only the last revision of the item can be retrieved.
This non-editable field displays the U/M (unit of measure) if you enter a complete item ID and revision.
Use this drop-down box to select the method of criteria matching to use with either the item ID or the item description when executing the query.
The system-defined choices are "Exact Match," "Begins With," Ends With," and "Contains."
Use this drop-down box to select either "Make" or "Buy" items as a search criterion. Leave this field blank to select both.
Enter an item description to use as search criteria, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by description.
Use this drop-down box to select an item type as a search criterion, if desired. Choose from "Part," "Goods," or "Service." Leave this field blank to select all types.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a specific commodity code to use as a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by commodity.
The description for the commodity code entered displays in the adjacent non-editable field.
Enter the item's national stock number to use as a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by NSN.
Use this drop-down box to select "Active" or "Inactive" items as a search criterion. Leave this field empty to retrieve both active and inactive items.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a specific product classification to use a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by product classification.
The description for the product classification entered displays in the adjacent non-editable field.
A product classification is a detailed grouping of items within a product type.
Enter the item's associated Mil-Spec (Military Specification) number to use as a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by Mil-Spec number.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a planner to use as a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by planner.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, a specific buyer ID to use as a search criterion, if desired. Leave this field blank to not select by buyer.
Once you've entered the desired search criteria, select the Execute icon and the query results will display in the table window.
The fields appearing in this table window are non-editable.
This field displays the ID of the item returned from the search.
This field displays the revision of the item.
This field displays the description of the item displayed in the Item field. Use the Notepad icon to view the description in its entirety, if necessary.
This field displays the item type. One of three system-defined item types will display here:
P (Part)
G (Good)
S (Service)
This field displays the default U/M (unit of measure) for this item.
This field displays whether the item is an "M" (Make) or "B" (Buy) item.
This field displays the commodity code associated with the item.
This field displays the product classification associated with the item.
This field displays the product type associated with the item’ s product classification.
This field displays the buyer ID associated with the item.
This field displays the planner ID assigned to this item.
This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate the active status of the item.
This field displays the item's NSN (National Stock Number), if applicable.
This field displays the item's associated Mil-Spec (Military Specification) number, if applicable.
This field displays the UPC (Uniform Product Code) for the item, if applicable.
This field displays the industry classification code for the item, if applicable.
This field displays the selling U/M (unit of measure) if this item is to be sold.
This field displays the model number of the item, if applicable.
This field displays the selling description of the item if this item is to be sold outside of your company. Use the Notepad icon to view the description in its entirety, if necessary.
This field displays the last ECN (Engineering Change Notice) ID implemented for this item, if applicable.
