Use this non-editable subtask to view ECN (Engineering Change Notice) information for parts selected from the query results.

When should I use this subtask?

Use this subtask whenever necessary to view ECN information for parts you've queried.

Field Descriptions

These display-only, non-editable fields default from the selected record line in the table window of the main screen.

Item

This field displays the item ID of the selected item.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the selected item.

U/M

This field displays the U/M (unit of measure) associated with the selected item.

Make/Buy

This field displays whether the item is "M" (Make) or "B" (Buy).

Active

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) for the active status of this item.

Table Window

These non-editable fields display ECN information previously entered in the Maintain ECNs screen.

ECN

This field displays the ID of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) that references the selected part.

ECN Rev

This field displays the current revision of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

ECN Description

This field displays the description of the ECN displayed in the ECN field. Use the Notepad icon to view the entirety of the description, if necessary.

Status

This field displays the status of the ECN. One of the following system-defined options will display in this field:

Type

This field displays the type code of ECN.

Class

This field displays the ECN class: "1," "1.5," or "2," assigned to the selected part.

Hold

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether or not the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) is on hold.

Approval Project

This field displays the ID of the project that is to be used to determine which users can approve the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Action Code

This field displays the Action Code that this ECN (Engineering Change Notice) will perform performed for the selected part: "A" (Add), "C" (Change), "D" (Delete), "R" (Replace), "V" (New Rev), or "O" (Obsolete).

CAGE

This field displays the CAGE (Commercial And Government Entity) ID assigned to the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Original Part

This field displays the ID of the original part (i.e., part impacted by the ECN) that will be affected by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Original Part Rev

This field displays the revision of the part that will be affected by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Original Part Desc

This field displays the description of the part displayed in the Original Part field.

Approval Process

This field displays the Approval Process this ECN (Engineering Change Notice) will be required to pass before implementation.

Priority

This field displays the priority code of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Reason

This field displays the reason code assigned to the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Original Part Status

This field displays the release status of the part that will be affected by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

One of the following system-defined status codes will appear in this field: "E" (Estimating), "O" (Obsolete), "P" (Pre-Release), "R" (Released), "S" (Phase-Out), or "U" (Unreleased).

Customer

This field displays the ID of the customer for whom the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) is being performed.

Customer Name

This field displays the name of the customer corresponding to the customer ID displayed in the Customer field.

Original Part Active

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) depending whether the original part affected by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) is active or not.

Change-To Part

This field displays the ID of the part that will replace the original part.

If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the new part being created by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Originator

This field displays the employee ID of the person originating the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Change-To Part Rev

This field displays the revision of the part that will replace the original part.

If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the revision of the new part being created by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Originator Name

This field displays the name corresponding to the employee ID displayed in the Originator field.

Change-To Part Desc

This field displays the description of the part ID displayed in the Change-To Part field.

If the Original Part field is blank, this field displays the description of the new part being created by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Cust Apprvl Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether customer approval is required or not for the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Change-To Part Status

This field displays the release status that the change-to part will be assigned by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

One of the following system-defined status codes will appear in this field: "E" (Estimating), "O" (Obsolete), "P" (Pre-Release), "R" (Released), "S" (Phase-Out), or "U" (Unreleased).

ECP

This field displays the ECP (Engineering Change Proposal) number assigned to the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Change-To Part CAGE

This field displays the Commercial And Government Entity) CAGE code of the part to be added by the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Organization

This field displays the organization to which the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) is linked.

Change-To Part Make/Buy

This field displays "B" (Buy) if the change-to part is normally purchased and "M" (Make) if it is normally manufactured.

Cust Apprvl Status

This field displays the current status of the customer approval: "Not Required," "Pending," "Approved," or "Rejected."

Material Disposition

This field displays the material disposition: "Scrap," "Rework," "Reinspect," "No Change," and "Update Rev."

ECP Type

This field displays the current type of the ECP (Engineering Change Proposal): "Formal," "Preliminary," or "Not Applicable."

Originator Phone

This field displays the phone number of the originator of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice), as displayed in the Originator field.

Originator Phone Ext

This field displays the phone number extension of the originator of the ECN (Engineering Change Notice), as displayed in the Originator field..

ECN Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) originated.

Submitted For Approval Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) was submitted for approval.

Planned Impl Date

This field displays the date on which changes are planned for implementation.

Effective Date

This field displays the date when the changes are to become effective.

Approval Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) was approved.

Implementation Date

This field displays the date on which the ECN changes are implemented.

Entry User

This field displays the Costpoint User ID of the person who originally created the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Last Change User

This field displays the Costpoint User ID of the person who made the last change to the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Entry Date/Time

This field displays the date and time when the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) was originally created.

Last Change Date/Time

This field displays the date and time of the last change to the ECN (Engineering Change Notice).

Company ID

This field displays your company ID based on the search criteria and the setting of the Separate Items by Company checkbox in the Corporate Settings subtask in the Product Definition Settings screen (Administration\Configure\Materials). If Separate Items by Company checkbox is selected, this field will be hidden.

Table Information

The ECN (Engineering Change Notice) and ECN_PART (ECN Part) tables are the source tables whose data is evaluated as you access this subtask.
