Substitute Parts

What can I do in this subtask?

Use this non-editable subtask to view the list of substitute parts for parts selected from the query results. Data found here was originally entered in the Substitute Parts screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

When should I use this subtask?

Use this subtask whenever necessary to view substitute part information for parts you've queried.

Field Descriptions

These display-only, non-editable fields default from the selected record line in the table window of the main screen.

Item

This field displays the item ID of the selected item.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the selected item.

U/M

This field displays the U/M (unit of measure) associated with the selected item.

Make/Buy

This field displays whether the item is "M" (Make) or "B" (Buy).

Active

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) for the active status of this item.

Table Window

These non-editable fields display information about the substitute parts previously entered in the Substitute Parts screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

Seq

This field displays the order of preference for each substitute.  

Lower numbers are more preferred substitutes than higher numbers.

Substitute Part

This field displays the part ID of the substitute part that can be exchanged for the part displayed in the Item field.

Note: The substitute part must have a valid part number in Costpoint.
 

Rev

This field displays the revision of the substitute part.

I/C

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether this substitute is completely interchangeable with the part displayed in the Item field.

Description

This field displays the description for the part ID displayed in the Substitute Part field.

U/M

This field displays the default U/M (unit of measure) of the substitute part.

Make/Buy

This field displays the "M" (Make)/"B" (Buy) code for the substitute part.

Table Information

The ITEM (Item), PART (Part), and SUBST_PART (Substitute Part) tables are source tables whose data is evaluated as you access this subtask.
