Projects

What can I do in this subtask?

Use this non-editable subtask to view item project information for items selected from the query results and linked to projects. Data found here was originally entered in the Project Requirements screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

This screen contains the additional subtask, Project Substitute Parts, which you can use to view substitute part information for items assigned to projects.

When should I use this subtask?

Use this subtask whenever you need to view project information for items you've queried.

Field Descriptions

These display-only, non-editable fields default from the selected record line in the table window of the main screen.

Item

This field displays the item ID of the selected item.

Rev

This field displays the revision of the selected item.

U/M

This field displays the U/M (unit of measure) associated with the selected item.

Make/Buy

This field displays whether the item is "M" (Make) or "B" (Buy).

Active

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) for the active status of this item.

Table Window

The fields in the form view are display-only and non-editable. Data found here was originally entered in the Project Requirements screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

Project

This field displays the project ID to which this item is assigned.

Project Name

This field displays the project name for the project ID displayed in the Project field.

Project Type

This field displays the project type assigned to the project.

Active

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether or not the project is active.

Starting Date

This field displays the starting date of the project.

Ending Date

This field displays the ending date of the project.

Safety Stock Quantity

This field displays the safety stock quantity.

This quantity is used to help generate reorder information for materials planning and will be added to other requirements to determine how much inventory is required.

Reorder Pt Quantity

This field displays the quantity required to be in inventory for this part.

This field is only applicable for parts that have a Planning Type of "Reorder," as assigned  in the Planning screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

Order To Quantity

This field displays the target inventory quantity desired for this part.

This quantity is used in addition to the reorder point to sustain an inventory level for this part for planning purposes.

This field is only applicable for parts that have a Planning Type of "Reorder" and a Policy Type of "Order To Point," as assigned in the Planning screen link of the Parts User Flow (Materials\Maintain\Items).

Preferred Warehouse

This field displays the preferred warehouse where this part will be received for this project.

Preferred Whse Location

This field displays the preferred warehouse location where this part will be received for this project.

QC Insp Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate that QC acceptance/inspection is required for PO (purchase order) receipts for this part/project.

Source Insp Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether source inspection is required for POs (purchase orders) for this part/project.

A source inspection normally requires the vendor to obtain approval from an inspector before the material can be shipped.

Cert Conf Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether the vendor must submit a Certificate of Conformance when this part is ordered for the specified project.

A Certificate of Conformance is a legal document that certifies that the materials conform to certain specifications and requirements, and it is issued by the vendor.

Lot Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether or not to track lot numbers in inventory for this part when used with this project.

Serial Reqd

This field displays "Y" (Yes) or "N" (No) to indicate whether or not to track serial numbers in inventory for this part when used with this project.

Project Substitute Parts

Use the Project Substitute Parts subtask to view substitute part information for items assigned to projects.

Table Information

The PART_PROJ (Part Project) and PROJ (Project) tables are source tables whose data is evaluated as you access this subtask.
