Contents of the Import Guide Tab

Use the contents of this tab as guidance in processing your uploaded family prior to project-level import.

On this tab, the following contents are available:

Item Description
Steps Completed This widget indicates the number of import steps that you completed. These steps pertain to the preparations or adjustments that you should make to your uploaded family prior to import. These steps are listed under Prerequisites and Recommendations.
Import Score This widget indicates the score of your uploaded family based on Specpoint's criteria for import. This score depends on your responses to the steps under Prerequisites and Recommendations.
Prerequisites This portion indicates whether you have open errors or needs attention items that you must address.
Recommendations This checklist includes steps that you should do for preparing or adjusting your uploaded family prior to import.

Perform each step and mark its completion by clicking Yes or No. These steps ensure that your content follows the prescribed formatting as well as prevent possible issues.

Prerequisites

Under Prerequisites, the following step is available:

Step Description
Have all "Needs Attention" errors been resolved? Specpoint automatically answers this step based on the errors or needs attention items that the platform detected after converting your uploaded family. On the Import page, the Needs Attention column displays the number of errors detected for each family. You can view these errors, if any, in the Needs Attention window.

Recommendations

Under Recommendations, the following steps are available:

Step Description
Have all "Caution" errors been resolved? Check and revise your uploaded family for minor issues or caution items.

On the Import page, the Caution column displays the number of caution items detected for each family. You can view these caution items, if any, in the Caution window.

Have you set assembly associations? Set an association between your uploaded family and an assembly. In the Set Associations window, select a target position in the assembly-driven content structure for the family and its product types.

Has the MasterSpec template file been applied to the imported file? Download the MasterSpec style template file and format your external family in DOC format based on the template file.

Do all of the Family Product Types appear on the import page column? On the Import page, click the uploaded family to expand it and view its product types. Verify that the platform converted all product types under the family.
Do the Manufacturers appear as pills within the Family Product Type? On the Preview tab, verify that the listed manufacturers under the manufacturer paragraphs and BOD product paragraphs of each product type are correct and complete.

Perform each step and mark its completion by clicking Yes or No. Although each step is optional, we recommend that you perform each step to ensure the compatibility of your imported family's contents.
