Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Office Master Workspace Action Bar

Use the contents of this action bar to access general options for an office master family and its product types.

Navigate to the following contents:

Main Options

On this action bar, the following options are available:

Option Description
Product Selection Click View Products to view product listings in the Product Listings window and browse products for the office master family and/or product type.
Notes Click View to view and manage notes for office master elements in the Notes window.
Menu Icon Click this button to show or hide the Show/Hide bar, which you can use to toggle the visibility of the various panes and tabs, such as the MasterSpec Elements pane and the Track Changes tab.
Search Icon Click this button to show or hide the element search bar, which you can use to search for a specific assembly, family, or product type element.
Close or Show Click this button to show or hide the options on the office master workspace action bar.

Show/Hide Bar

On the Show/Hide bar, the following options are available:

Option Description
MasterSpec Elements Click this option to show or hide the MasterSpec Elements pane.
Note: When you hide or show an office master workspace pane or tab, Specpoint retains selections that you make in that pane or tab.

Element Search Bar

On the element search bar, the following options are available:

Option Description
Search Field Enter the terms to search for in the element numbers or element names of the assemblies, families, and product types. You can click X to clear the search bar.

When you have this field selected, you can press ENTER to run the search.

This search covers all building categories.

Search Icon Click this button to search for office master elements based on your entered search term in the search field.

The search results display in the MasterSpec Elements pane.

Element Filters Set any combination of the following filters:
Option Description
Assembly Select this option to apply the search to assembly elements. Clear this option to exclude assemblies from the search.
Family Select this option to apply the search to family elements. Clear this option to exclude families from the search.
Product Type Select this option to apply the search to product type elements. Clear this option to exclude product types from the search.
Note: Excluded elements still display in the search results as parent elements of elements that match the search term.

Workspace Toolbar (Articles and Paragraphs)

For your selected article or paragraph on the element form, the following options are available:

Option Description Shortcut
Move Up Click this button to move the active article or paragraph one position up. ALT+SHIFT+UP
Move Down Click this button to move the active article or paragraph one position down. ALT+SHIFT+DOWN
Demote Click this button to demote the paragraph to a subparagraph of the paragraph that precedes it on the same paragraph level. TAB
Promote Click this button to promote the paragraph to a sibling of its current parent paragraph. SHIFT+TAB
Insert Pill Click this button to add an option/pill. This enables users to select prescribed values in the paragraph. CTRL+ALT+P
Insert Text Field Click this button to add a text field or insert option. This enables users to enter custom values in the paragraph. CTRL+ALT+T
Insert Unit of Measure Click this button to add a unit of measure (UOM) field. This enables users to enter measurement values in the paragraph. CTRL+U
Insert Specifier Note Click this button to add notes to specifier for the article or paragraph. This provides guidance to contributors, authors, and other design professionals. CTRL+ALT+S

Workspace Toolbar (Elements)

For your selected project element on the Project Elements pane, the following options are available:

Option Description Shortcut
Element Name This displays the selected element's name and code.

In addition, this displays the element type below the element name, such as assembly, family, or product type.

Supporting Documents Click this button to open the available supporting documents for the office master family or product type. These documents provide professionals at any level with guidance, research, and coordination checklists to help them develop project information more effectively. CTRL+I
Export Click this button to export the project section in which the office master family or product type belongs, as a PDF file and a DOCX file. CTRL+SHIFT+E
Preview Click this button to open the Section Preview window and view how the office master family's or product type's specified articles and paragraphs display in a traditional section view or in a project output. CTRL+ALT+I
