Notes Window

Use this window to manage all projects notes for your project, its elements, and its content items. This window serves as a home page for all notes and related features for a project.

This window displays each project note as a note card. A note card enables you to preview details about a project note as you browse through all the notes in your project. You can use the available filters to quickly find notes and organize your view.

Moreover, the Notes window groups all note cards on the following boards for the following work statuses:
  • New
  • In Progress
  • Complete

These boards help manage the project notes' current work status. Use this feature to track the project team's progress in addressing the specific task or concern of each project note.

Window Behavior

The Notes window takes into account actions that you perform within and outside this window. The following table shows the nuances and behaviors of this window to enable you to correctly work with notes for a project:

Behavior Description
Project Assignment When you open a Notes window, Specpoint assigns this window session to the active project in its origin project workspace (from where you opened the Notes window). This window displays only notes that refer to the assigned project or its project elements.
Project note additions and modifications that you initiate from this window register to the active project of its origin project workspace regardless of the following:
  • You close the tab or browser in which the origin project workspace is open.
  • You navigate to another page from the browser tab on which the origin project workspace is open.
Filtering by Project Element This window displays notes based on the selected assembly, family, or product type in its origin project workspace. When the Notes window is open and you select another project element in its origin project workspace, Specpoint updates the available notes in this window.

For more information, see Project Elements Pane.

This feature works with the Note Type filter field. This filter field displays the currently selected project element. To disable filtering by project element, clear the Note Type filter field.

Multiple Windows You can open multiple Notes windows from multiple project workspaces with different active projects on different browser tabs. Specpoint assigns each window session to its respective active project in its respective origin project workspace. This also applies when you open multiple projects by navigating in and out of the project workspace. Project note additions and modifications that you make in each window register only to its respective active project based on its respective origin project workspace.
