Office Master Content Customization

Customize your A/E firm's imported office masters to update baseline content for all of your firm's projects.

You can work on your imported or created office masters natively in Specpoint. An office master is a custom specification which contains guidelines or standards that are recognized as effective ways to prepare and present project requirements and convey a clear understanding to all stakeholders. Office masters enable a firm to preserve its knowledge and use the firm's best practices to enable success in future projects. Typically, a custom office master builds upon industry guide specifications, such as MasterSpec, and integrates custom families, properties, and requirements.

For office master customization, you can modify both your imported and created office master families. You no longer need to edit the external files of your office masters and re-import them into the platform to update your office masters. Specpoint's office master workspace enables you to update the baseline or default starting content of your A/E firm's projects. You can work on office master content similarly to how you work on project element contents. This includes existing collaboration tools, such as notes and track changes, as well as additional features for establishing firm-wide standards.

Use the new available features to perform the following general steps of the office master content customization workflow:

  1. In the element library, create a work item for your office master family.
  2. In the office master workspace, modify the content items and properties of your office master family.
  3. On the office master dashboard, publish the office master family.
