Interproject Relationships
You can create relationships between activities in different projects.
A project that contains a relationship to an activity in an unopened external subproject has a "foreign" activity that represents the other end of the inter-project relationship. When both projects are opened together, foreign activities are replaced by the original activities.
Open Plan allows you to create any of the following types of inter-project relationships:
- Relationships between activities in two projects
- Relationships between activities in a master project and an external subproject
- Relationships between activities in two different external subprojects
While both projects must be open at the time the relationship is created, they do not need to remain open.
In all cases, the relationships may be any of the standard types: Finish-to-Start, Start-to-Start, Start-to-Finish, or Finish-to-Finish.
