Create a Relationship (Spreadsheet)

Use this procedure to create a relationship spreadsheet.

To create a relationship in a relationship spreadsheet:

  1. In the Project Views folder of Open Plan Explorer, select a project to display in relationship spreadsheet view.
  2. Select an empty cell in the Predecessor column.
  3. At the right edge of the edit box, click the ellipsis button.
The edit box is the field above the table.
  4. On the Select Activity dialog box, select the activity to become the predecessor in the relationship, and click OK.
  5. In the Successor column, select the activity to become the successor in the relationship using the edit box.
  6. Enter the rest of the information for the relationship.
To create multiple relationships to the same predecessor, repeat this procedure, selecting the same activity ID for each relationship you want to create.
Note: You can also add, edit, and delete data for predecessors and successors directly in a cell of any activity-based spreadsheets. The Activity Predecessors and Activity Successors columns display the predecessor/successor ID, relationship type, and lag of the relationship (which is optional and may be negative) in each cell using the format <Predecessor/Successor ID><space><relationship type><+/-Lag>. For example, 1.02 SF+3d.
