Characteristics of Internal Subproject Activities

Activities that you designate as internal subprojects are identical to standard activities.

However, there are exceptions, which are as follows:

• The duration of the subproject is calculated from the durations of its child activities during time analysis. You cannot enter the duration on the General tab of the Activity Details dialog box.
• The progress information of the subproject is based on the progress of its child activities.
• Resource requirements assigned to a subproject do not delay the subproject during resource scheduling calculations.
• After you have designated an activity as a subproject, you cannot change the activity type unless you remove all its child activities.
• When you copy a subproject, you copy all its child activities.
• When you delete a subproject, you delete all its child activities.
