Changing the Duration of an Activity in a Barchart View

Use this procedure to change the duration of an activity in barchart view.

To change the duration of an activity in a barchart view:

1. On the View tab, select Bar Data mode .
2. Place the cursor at the right edge of the activity bar for which you want to change the duration.
   The cursor changes to a symbol.
3. Drag the cursor in the appropriate direction as follows:
   • To decrease the duration, drag the right end of the bar to the left.
   • To increase the duration, drag the right end of the bar to the right.
   • While you drag the end of the bar, a pop-up display indicates the duration. (To cancel the new duration, press Esc.)
   The length of the bar always represents the duration relative to the date scale. Therefore, if the date scale is non-linear, the bars may change length as they are moved to different parts of the barchart.
