General Tab

The Activity Details General tab defines the basic information about the activity.

Calendar

If you have assigned a calendar file to the project, you can assign a calendar to the activity. Each activity in a project can use its own calendar. Open Plan uses this calendar to control calculations for the activity. If you do not enter a calendar in this field, Open Plan performs all calculations based on the default calendar assigned to the project.

In projects for which no calendar file has been assigned, all activity dates are calculated using a 5-day, 40-hour work week.

Type

The activity type defines how the activity is treated during time analysis. Open Plan supports the following activity types:

  • ASAP
  • ALAP
  • Start Milestone
  • Finish Milestone
  • Discontinuous
  • Subproject
  • Hammock
  • Effort Driven
  • External Subproject
  • Foreign Project
  • Foreign Subproject
  • Foreign Activity

In order for the Resources and Codes tabs to be enabled, the appropriate ancillary files must first be assigned to the project.
