Setting a Target Start Date

Use this procedure to set a target start date.

To set a target start date:

1. Take one of the following actions:
   In a barchart view:
   1. In the Show menu group of the View tab, select Bar Data mode .
   2. Place the cursor anywhere within the activity bar for which you want to set a target start date.
      The cursor changes to a symbol.
   3. Drag the activity bar to a new date. While you drag a bar, a pop-up display indicates the date represented by the cursor position.
      The length of the bar always represents the duration relative to the date scale. Therefore, if the date scale is non-linear, the bars may change length as they are moved to different parts of the barchart.
   In any view:
   1. Right-click the activity for which you want to set a target start date.
   2. On the shortcut menu, click Edit Activity.
   3. On the General tab of the Activity Details dialog box, enter the information for a target start date, and click Apply.
