Contents of the Project Properties Progress Tab

You can only modify the options on this tab if you have appropriate access rights.

Field Description
Project Name The name of the project is established when the project is created. You cannot edit the name of the project.
Description Providing a project description is optional when the project is created. You can enter or modify the project description on any tab of the dialog box.
Valid Progress Type for an Activity The Planned and Complete progress types are always enabled.
  • Remaining Duration: Select this option to support the Remaining Duration progress type, which represents the duration remaining for the activity.

    You can also select or clear this option by clicking ALT + r.

  • Elapsed Duration: Select this option to support the Elapsed Duration progress type, which represents the amount of the original duration that has elapsed.
  • Percent Complete: Select this option to support the Percent Complete progress type, which represents the percent of the original activity duration that is complete.
  • Expected Finish Date: Select this option to support the Expected Finish Date progress type, which represents the date on which an incomplete activity is expected to finish.
When an Activity is Completed
  • Set physical % to 100%: Select this option to set the physical percent complete of the activity to 100%.

    You can also select or clear this option by clicking ALT + r.

  • Set resource remaining to 0: Select this option to set the remaining resource quantity or cost of the activity to 0.
  • Set resource actual to budget: Select this option to set the actual quantity or cost of the resource used to budget.
  • Set all Steps to complete: Select this option to set all steps to complete.

Only the selected progress types on this dialog box display in the drop-down list for the Progress Type column of a Spreadsheet view as well as in the Calculate drop-down list on the Progress Calculations dialog box. If you do not select any progress types, the Calculate field is disabled.

When more than one users (for example, User 1 and User 2) open a project in Shared mode and one of them (User 1) updates the Progress tab, Open Plan allows all users who are working on the project simultaneously to see the latest selected options. The updated options, however, only display when User 2 clicks the Refresh button.
