The Links tab allows you to associate project documents, web pages, and other files to control accounts, work packages, and activities. This tab is related to the Link Center form.
If you add a link to an existing control account, work package, or activity, you will be able to see that same link in the Change Details view, Cost Analysis view, and Schedule Analysis view, even if the change request is rejected or cancelled.
If you add a link to a new work package or activity that has been created as part of a change request, the link will only be visible in the Change Details view. This allows you to see the link and allows other processes/areas (such as schedule analysis and the creation of corrective action/EoV) to use it before the change request has been approved. You will be able to see the link in the Cost Analysis view and Schedule Analysis view after the change request has been approved.
See the Change Management Process for information on the approval process.
When a change request is approved, there are no changes made to any control account, activity, or work package links that exist in the source project. New activities or work packages, including their links, that were created as part of the change request, are moved to the source project.
When a change request is rejected or canceled, there are no changes made to any activity or work package links that exist in the source project. If a link no longer applies, then it will need to be manually deleted. If there are links to new activities or work packages that were created as part of the change request, they will be deleted as part of the clean up process.
If your organization does not have a document management system, Deltek recommends that you set up a network folder and provide access to PM Compass users.
This grid displays all links associated with the selected control account, work package, or activity.
