Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of a Product Listing Card

Use the contents of this card to view information about a product listing. The contents of this card enable you to access more information about the product and its manufacturer.

Product Information

The available contents on a product listing card depend on the product's listing type.

The following information is available on a product listing card:

Item Description
Corporate Logo/Company Display Name This displays the corporate logo of the product's manufacturer, if available. Otherwise, this displays the company display name.
Badge (, , or ) A badge indicates if a product listing is added to the project or is flagged for review. The following badges are available:
  • Added to Project: This indicates that a project team member added the product listing to the active project as a recommended or comparable product.
  • Added as BOD: This indicates that a project team member added the product listing to the active project as a basis-of-design product.
  • Flagged for Review: This indicates that a project team member flagged the product listing for review.
Note: These badges are available only for cards in the Product Listings window at the project level, which is when you open the window from the project workspace with an active project.
Product Card Type This displays a label that indicates the product card type, which indicates a listing's distribution or approval level. The following card types are available for the following listing types:

Premium MasterSpec MasterSpec Verified
Premium Proprietary General Distribution
Premium General Distribution
Manufacturer For manufacturer listings, a label for card type is not available.
Publication Date This displays when the product listing was published.
Status This indicates that the product listing is Active.
Photo or Video This displays a photo or video preview of the product. If no photo or video is available for the product, this displays the product's listing type as a placeholder.

If the product has multiple photos or videos available, you can browse through the photos and video previews by clicking the < left and > right arrow. You can also select which photo or video preview to display by clicking the dots at the bottom of the photo.

This portion has the following special contents for the following listing types:
  • Proprietary: For premium proprietary listings, the photo or video portion displays an additional Proprietary label.
  • Manufacturer: For manufacturer listings, photos and videos are not available. This displays a MasterSpec Approved Manufacturer label as a placeholder.
Category This displays the product category.
Product Name This displays the complete name of the product.
Family Name This displays the family or section element for which the product is applicable.
Product Type This displays the product type element for which the product is applicable. This also refers to a general product requirement for the project within a family or section.
Listing Type This displays the product's listing type in its respective color code. The following color codes are available for the following listing types:
Listing Type Color
Premium MasterSpec Yellow
Premium Proprietary Red
Premium Orange
Manufacturer Gray

Manufacturer Options Icon This icon indicates that manufacturer options are available for the product listing.

Manufacturer options are available for only Premium MasterSpec listings and Premium listings.

To view more information about the product in the Product Listing Details pane, click the listing card.

Product Selection Options

The following options for product selection are available on a product listing card:

Option Description
Add Product to Project Click this button to add the product listing to the project.

To remove an added product listing, click Remove Product From Project .

Add as Basis of Design This option is available only for premium MasterSpec listings and premium listings.

Click this button to add the product listing to the project as a basis of design.

To remove an added basis-of-design product, click Remove as Basis of Design .

Flag for Review Click this button to flag the product listing for review to consult with other project team members regarding its inclusion to the project. You can also flag a listing to bookmark it and filter for it later.

To remove an added the review flag from the product listing, click Remove Flag for Review .

Note: The product selection options are available only if the following conditions are met:
  • You are an administrator or author.
  • You are browsing product listings in the Product Listings window at the project level, which is when you open the window from the project workspace with an active project.
  • You selected a lowest-level assembly (an assembly without any child assemblies), family, section, or product type element in the project workspace.
  • The product listing card is for a premium MasterSpec, premium, or manufacturer listing.
