AutoTime 6 Period View Timecard

This feature requires version 6.3.2.C or later of the AutoTime 6 application and database.

The Period (AutoTime 6) tab displays an employee’s timecard from the AutoTime 6 application. This tab is available in the Self Service Time Card and in the Supervisor Review timecard (Current Situation and Time Card Review).

If you are upgrading from AutoTime 6, you can use this tab to view older transactions that were entered in AutoTime 6 and exist only in the AutoTime 6 database.

The Period (AutoTime 6) tab is view-only. You will not be able to modify transactions, sign/unsign, or lock/unlock the records. If you need to modify the records, you will need to do so in your AutoTime 6 application.

The following configuration is required to view this tab:

Configuration for the AutoTime 6 Database

In order to display the Period (AutoTime 6) timecard, the Shop Floor Time application will need to connect to the AutoTime 6 database. To do so, you will need to deploy a Data Source for the AutoTime 6 database. You will also need to define this data source in the Interface Host form.

If you have more than one AutoTime 6 database (for example, each facility has its own database), you will need to deploy a data source for each database, and define an Interface Host record for data source.

Deploying the AutoTime 6 Data Source

You need to deploy the AutoTime 6 Data Source using the JBoss or WebLogic Administrative Console.

The procedure for deploying your AutoTime 6 Data Source will depend on which version of JBoss or WebLogic you are using for your Shop Floor Time application server.

Refer to your JBoss or WebLogic documentation for information on creating and deploying a data source.

Configure the Interface Host

Once your AutoTime 6 data source is defined, you can create an Interface Host record for the AutoTime 6 database. This database configuration can then be assigned to employees via the System Settings or a Facility setting.

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Interfaces > Interface Host.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter a Host Name for this record.

  4. For the Host Type, select Receiver.

  5. In the Host Data Source field, enter the name of the AutoTime 6 data source you have deployed (see above).

  6. If you want to add more than one Interface Host record, click Save and Add to save your settings and keep the Add Interface Host form open. Or click Save to save your Interface Host record and return to the Interface Host form.

AT6 DB Host Name Setting

In order to view the Period (AutoTime 6) timecard, the logged in user must have the AT6 DB Host Name setting configured. This setting will connect the user to the appropriate AutoTime 6 database.

The AT6 DB Host Name setting can be configured at the System level or the Facility level. If it is configured in both places, the Facility setting will take precedence.

To assign the AT6 DB Host Name setting at the System level:

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > System > System Settings.

  2. If the AT6 DB Host Name setting is visible, select it and click Modify. Select the Setting Value that corresponds to your AutoTime 6 database. The available options are Receivers with a Host Data Source defined in the Interface Host form. Click Save when you are done.

  3. If the AT6 DB Host Name setting is not visible, click Add. For the Setting Name, select AT6 DB Host Name. Select the Setting Value that corresponds to your AutoTime 6 database. Click Save when you are done.

To assign the AT6 DB Host Name setting at the Facility level:

  1. Click Main Menu > Employee Management > Employee Group.

  2. In the Employee Group Type field at the top of the form, select FACILITY. You can also enter the name of the facility in the Employee Group Name field.

  3. Click Find.

  4. Select the facility you want to modify and click the Employee Group Setting tab at the bottom of the form.

  5. Click Add.

  6. For the Setting Type, select AT6 DB Host Name.

  7. Select the Setting Value that corresponds to your AutoTime 6 database. The available options are Receivers with a Host Data Source defined in the Interface Host form.

  8. Enter the Start and End Dates when this setting will be effective.

  9. Click Save when you are done.

  10. Repeat these steps if you need to assign the AT6 DB Host Name setting to another facility.

Using the Period (AutoTime 6) Timecard

The Period (AutoTime 6) tab is available in the following timecards:

Supervisors can use this tab to view AutoTime 6 transactions for the employees they manage. Employees can use this tab to view their own AutoTime 6 transactions.

The tab is view-only. If you need to modify transactions, sign/unsign, or lock/unlock the records, you will need to do so in your AutoTime 6 application

Event colors will not display in the Period (AutoTime 6) tab. You cannot view daily details or view individual transaction details.

The Split Second Half column indicates whether hours were posted to the first or second half of a split day in a 9-80 schedule. You can enable this column in your Form Profile. If the Split Second Half field is blank, then none of the hours in the line item were posted on a split day. If this field displays "Y," then hours for the line item were posted on the second half of a split day. An "N" indicates the hours were posted on the first half of a split day.

You can use the Preferences form to change the Name Format, Duration Format, and Seconds display of the timecard.
