Enable the Narrative Score Feature

You must have valid artificial intelligence login credentials entered into EPM Security Administrator or PPM Administrator to enable and utilize the Narrative Score feature.

If you encounter issues in your AI connection setup, contact your System Administrator.

Note:
  • Only Azure OpenAI Service is currently supported.
  • You are required to set up your own Azure accounts. For comprehensive details on the terms of service (TOS) and terms of use (TOU), refer to the Microsoft Azure Legal Information on the Microsoft website.
  • AI connection settings configured in EPM Security Administrator, PPM Administrator, or PM Compass EPM Security Administrator are displayed in all corresponding tools where they are accessed.
Attention: For more information on Azure Open AI Service, see the Azure OpenAI Service documentation on the Microsoft website.

To enable the Narrative Score feature:

  1. Log into EPM Security Administrator or PPM Administrator and do one of the following:
    • In EPM Security Administrator, navigate to System > AI Account Settings
    • In PPM Administrator, click System under Security and click the AI tab.
  2. Configure the Azure OpenAI settings.
    1. In the API Key field, enter the text string provided when the Azure OpenAI account is created.
    2. In the API Deployment Name or Deployment field, enter the name of the deployment you want to use.
For the selected deployment, make sure that the Version Update Policy in Azure OpenAI is set to Once a new default version is available. This will ensure a consistent connection with PM Compass and Azure OpenAI.
    3. In the API Endpoint or Endpoint field, enter the URL that directs to the current instance of Azure OpenAI referenced in the API Deployment Name field.
Attention: For more information on the fields in this procedure, see the EPM Security Administrator or PPM Administrator Help System.
  3. Click the Test Connection button.
    • If the connection is successful, a "Connection Successful" message displays.
    • If the connection is not successful, a "Connection Failed. Please make sure credentials are valid." message displays.
  4. Once the connection is successful, click the Save button to ensure that the information is saved.
