Closing Files
The operation performed when you issue a Close command depends on which method you use and the context in which you issue the command.
Clicking Close on the File menu
- In an activity data view, such as a barchart or spreadsheet view, clicking the Close command on the File menu closes the project.
- Selecting an open ancillary file and clicking the Close command on the File menu closes the ancillary file.
- Selecting an open project in the hierarchy pane of the Open Plan Explorer and clicking the Close command on the File menu closes the project.
Clicking Close on a context menu
- Right-clicking an open project and clicking Close on the shortcut menu closes the project.
- Right-clicking an open ancillary file and clicking Close on the shortcut menu closes the ancillary file.
Clicking the Close Button
- Clicking the Close button in the upper-right corner of a view closes that view but leaves the project open.
Clicking Close on the Control Menu
- Clicking Close on the Control Menu for Open Plan closes the program.
Using the F4 Key
- Pressing ALT+F4 closes Open Plan.
- Pressing CTRL+F4 from a view closes that view but leaves the project open.
Note: You can use the
Close All option to close all open projects, ancillary files, and dialog boxes at the same time instead of having to close each one separately. If you have unsaved changes, a message prompts you to save your changes. See
Close All Open Plan Files for more information.
