Deleting Projects

There are two ways to delete a project from Open Plan Explorer.

These are as follows:

  • Selecting the file and pressing the DELETE key
  • Using the Select File to Delete dialog box
Note: You can access this dialog box by displaying Manage Files from either the File menu or shortcut menu and then clicking Delete.
Attention: You cannot delete a file that is open, referenced by another file, or to which you do not have the appropriate rights.

Depending on where the file is located in the hierarchical view, Open Plan interprets the deletion as follows:

  • My Folder: If you delete a project from within this folder, Open Plan deletes only the links you created to these files. No actual data is deleted from the data source. To quickly delete a project link from this folder, right-click the project and click Delete Link on the context menu.
  • Projects: If you delete a project from within this folder, the project data is deleted from the data source, but only the links to the calendar, resource definition, code, and view files are deleted. No ancillary file or view data is deleted from the data source.

Codes that are assigned to projects cannot be deleted from the projects using this method. You can remove codes from projects using the Files tab of the Project Properties dialog box. For steps to delete a code file, see Delete a Code File.
